Principal Message
From Mot. Kpanah – Proprietress
Dear Faculty, staff, parents, and students of the New Destiny Christian High School. With gratitude, I greet you with a sincere and honest heart, firstly to God Almighty and to each of you as we celebrate the successful end of one academic year and usher in another. My family and I are pleased that those who continue to choose our school are preparing to enroll for the next academic year which renders this information booklet necessary.
As we usher in the academic year 2022/2023, I call on all parents, guardians, teachers, and students, to sustain the gains made and together find solutions to the challenges as we face them. Please let us work together because our strength lies in our unity.
Paynesville, you have chosen New Destiny Christian High School as your home away from home to continue your academic journey of learning and service.
To the parents of our students, teachers, and guardians, I am humbled and gratified by your decision that, among many schools in and around
Rev. Karpilee and I built this school to help less fortunate children receive sound education at a minimum cost. In memory of my husband, my hero, I am renewing my commitment to that dream by the grace of God and through the support of our family and friends.
I extend a special invitation to parents, guidance, teachers, and students to cooperate with and support each other in upholding the wishes and dreams of one who loved us a1I and worked so hard to build a school and church to nurture the whole person.
I am not in a position to make promises, but I can assure you that we are going to work and improve the standard of the school in all areas of the discipline. We are going to provide those things that were to be set up by my late husband in time to come, but we can only promise you a good and clean learning environment for a better tomorrow.
Welcome to the academic year 2022/2023. May God bless you and keep you safe as you prepare for another year of committed service as faculty and staff, parents, guardians, and students.
With Joy in the Service of the Lord,
Mother Kpanah Mulbah Karpilee and children
Brief History of the School
This school is named in memory of one of the five sisters (nuns) murdered during the infamous “Operation Octopus” of October 1992.
Sister Kathleen McGuire belonged to the Adorers of Precious Blood Congregation. She was round-faced, Mid-Western, Irish-American from a small community called Pond, in Eastern Illinois.
Sister McGuire was born on December 28, 1937. She worked for a number of religious organizations before coming to Liberia in 1991 after being convinced by her friend and mentor Sister Shirley Kolmer convinced her to. She was formerly called Nama Kathleen or Kay by her family. Her Family had formed in popcorn production in Illinois more than one hundred twenty-five years before her death.
Before her death, she managed the affair of both St. Michael Catholic School in Gardnesville and St. Patrick High School on Capital By-pass, Monrovia.
Archbishop Michael K. Francis had earlier bought a piece of Land located in Cooper Farm in 1984 from one Mr. Jenkins Cooper, so in 1995, he decided to build a school in memory of Sr. Kathleen McGuire. The Construction of a six-classroom building with a principal’s office along with a storeroom and flush toilets for staff and students started on February 8, 1995. It was turned over to the Catholic Education Secretariat on June 20, of the same year to educate every child that enters the walls of the school.
Registration started and the first day of school was June 24, 1995, behind the scheduled date of June 12 of the year due to the ill health of the coordinator who later died in Ghana.
Our Classes are scheduled to meet the comfort of our Instructors and our students
Our Institution is legally recognized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Liberia.
